Hello, and thanks for visiting. I have finished my fruit. I didn’t use oil after all, I just went over it with more acrylic paint. I worked mostly on the apple and the pear as far as changes. Then I glazed over the berries and the background. In the reference photo, there was a light ricocheting on one of the strawberries, but I couldn’t get it to look correct, so I removed it. Sometimes you have to change the painting to make it more believable. I also lightened the bottom of the vase to make it appear more transparent.
My quest for realism is not there yet, but I will keep trying!
