My paintings lately have all been geared toward farm animals. We live on a small farm of chickens and ducks, honey bees, and some garden beds. The bees are new this year but we should start harvesting honey by next spring. We have successfully grown some beautiful garlic and various peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, and cucumbers. We also have a young orchard of apples, pears, peaches, plums, grapes, and blueberries, but it will take time before they produce anything to harvest. Besides this, we are trying to branch out into crop planting and are hoping to start selling at a local farmers’ market by next summer. If you are interested in more information about the farm, I run a site called The Baker Farm.

One of the rules of selling at a farmer’s market is that it has to pertain to farming, so I may try to sell some prints. But basically, I am creating some farming art pieces and we’ll see.
I just finished the cow painting in polychromos and pan pastels and I believe I am done with this little pig too. I like to sit with the paintings for a couple of days to see if I want to add anything.
